I usually like to blog on the weekends but I was really busy this weekend! So, this week's post was inspired by a quote from Gloria Gaither: "There's a great deal of difference between innocence and virtue. Innocence is when you don't know any better. Virtue is when you do." I think that's really profound. I think innocence is a protected quality in Christian circles, but consider this. If an innocent person from a shielded home were to become tempted, and if a virtuous person from a home where lessons were taught well were encounter the same temptation, who would be more likely to make the right decision? Probably the virtuous person, I presume. So instead of trying to protect innocence, I think it is more important to learn lessons early on, so it's more likely to make the right choice.
