Okay, so I decided to forego last week's "real" post because of the apology I had posted beforehand. So, this is my first full-length post in a while. I've missed blogging and am glad to be back at it!

Anyhow, I've been listening to a lot of hymns lately after discovering the Gospel Music Hymn Sing YouTube channel (check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC640gLju5bd1nj2fQvlCBYQ). I got to thinking that these lyrics are important because of their timeless truths and biblical stability. Sure, some churches are abandoning these lyrics for the more modern stuff, but that doesn't mean the hymns are dying out. No, in fact there are still lots of SG artists recording hymns- in fact, lots of artists have recorded whole albums of them. And some people sometimes get together to sing hymns. Myself, I actually have a small collection of hymnals because my grandma would always take some when her church would get new ones. So these hymns are alive and well.

Especially in a world where it seems like nothing is staying the same, it is nourishing for our souls to finally understand that there are some things that always do. God's promises are "YES" and "AMEN". He can help us get through anything if we will let him. No matter what we do or encounter, he will work it for our good. So when you encounter the storms of life and it seems like foundations are a little shaky, hold to God's timeless truths.
